Seven-Year MD Track
4 MD + 3 Years Preclinical
For students who have secondary school credentials.
The seven鈥搚ear Doctor of Medicine track is designed for students who have secondary school credentials who need to study a complete course in the foundation sciences before beginning the medical degree program.

With a focus on preclinical sciences, social sciences, and humanities, the seven鈥搚ear entry point prepares students for the rigors of medical school by providing a strong support system around a solid preclinical curriculum.
Dual BS/MD Degree Option
By entering SGU鈥檚 seven-year preclinical track, you may be eligible to earn a Bachelor of Science on your way to completing your Doctor of Medicine.
The BS/MD option allows you to complete your undergraduate degree through three years of undergraduate and preclinical courses.
Admission Requirements*
Secondary School Diploma: A secondary school diploma with a strong performance in science. The following secondary school qualifications can be considered for the seven-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) Track entry:
- IGCSE (“O-Levels”): B or better in minimum 6 subjects, which include Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, and English
- American High School curriculum
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
International students are exempt from the MCAT admission requirement, but must fully meet our English language requirements if English is not their principal language.
English language:听An English exam is required for any prospective student whose country is not considered English-speaking as per UKVI*. However, if you obtained your undergraduate degree in any English-speaking country, there may be an exception. In this instance, you must request a waiver in order to be determined by the FSSC.
- IELTS- 7.0 on each band
- TOEFL- 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), or 100 (internet-based).听 The University鈥檚 TOEFL code is 2864
- Password-Skills 鈥揝coring is the same as IELTS scoring for direct entry
- C1 Advanced- A score of 186 overall is required for direct entry
- PTE Academic – A score of 85 overall is required for direct entry
