USMLE Step 1 pass rate for first-time test-takers over the last five years¹

Six-Year MD Track

4 MD + 2 Years Preclinical

For Students with AS Levels, and the South African or Australian Matric Examination Qualifications.

The six-year Doctor of Medicine preclinical track at SGU provides foundation sciences necessary for mastering the basic and clinical sciences phases of the program later in the MD curriculum.

Dual BSc/MD Degree Option

By entering SGU鈥檚 six-year preclinical track, you may be eligible to earn a Bachelor of Science on your way to completing your Doctor of Medicine.

The BSc/MD option allows you to complete your undergraduate degree through three years of undergraduate and preclinical courses.

The curriculum for our six-year track gives you the foundation needed to succeed as a physician, and prepares you to grow your practice into a thriving career in medicine.

English language: An English exam is required for any prospective student whose country is not considered English-speaking as per UKVI*. However, if you obtained your undergraduate degree in any English-speaking country, there may be an exception. In this instance, you must request a waiver in order to be determined by the FSSC.

IELTS- 7.0 on each band
TOEFL- 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), or 100 (internet-based).听 The University鈥檚 TOEFL code is 2864
Password-Skills 鈥揝coring is the same as IELTS scoring for direct entry
C1 Advanced- A score of 186 overall is required for direct entry
PTE Academic – A score of 85 overall is required for direct entry
